Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

November 11, 2005

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. Today, we cover a news story about a company Vonage has picked to work with as it expands its service in Canada. We'll see why an investment banker sued Vonage, and what Vonage has to say about it. We'll even show you where you can watch a short video that shows the VTech phone you can use with your Vonage service. Today is our popular In The Blogs feature, and the bloggers we read regularly have some interesting posts we'll tell you about. And we'll point you to a Vonage VoIP Forum thread that will tell you how we've beefed up our Forum- and even give you a real look-see at what we are up to here.

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. Today, we'll look at another one of those surveys that rank Vonage's advertising expenditures, and read a write-up of Vonage in get this- a magazine dedicated to your health. We'll cruise thru a Vonage VoIP Forum thread on Vonage experiences of users in one U.S. city, as well as a thread that describes the problem a Forum Member was having with his Linksys RTP300 router he's been using with his Vonage service.

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. In today's edition, we'll see what Vonage has to say about yet another 911 dialing ruling by the U.S. FCC, and look in on a letter Vonage has just sent to a friend of mine who hasn't quite gotten his act together yet and sent the required location information to Vonage. Today, we'll review Vonage VoIP Forum threads on pricing, and where you can get more info about codes you can dial to access some of Vonage's special dialing features.

Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

November 7, 2005

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. First, I have some great news. Early Sunday, we got our 14 millionth page view since we started our Forum here back in March, 2003. Every time you click on a page here in the Forum, that's one more page view. So, thanks for all your clicks.

We'll look at a news article that makes a strong case for users to have Vonage service rather than buy VoIP in a bundle from their Internet service provider, cable or phone company. We'll also review a report in which some Realtors, developers and others think that condos pre-wired for VoIP could be a great deal. We'll look at Vonage VoIP Forum threads from a new Vonage Forum member looking for equipment suggestions, as well as a thread from another new member wanting tips on running Vonage through a satellite delivered Internet connection. And finally, we'll meet our new Vonage VoIP Forum Member of the Week.

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. Today, we note a leading online gift expert's suggestion of Vonage as a gift for an older family member you might like to stay in more frequent touch with. Today is In The Blogs day, where we look at what some of our favorite bloggers who write about VoIP and Vonage are saying. We'll review a Vonage VoIP Forum thread about setting up a two-line phone to work with the Vonage service.

Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

November 3, 2005

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. In today's edition, we'll go over news stories that say Vonage may be holding talks with potential buyers of the company. We'll go over a big news story about how some VoIP companies (not including Vonage) are doing to delay the November 28 U.S. deadline for VoIP services to enable emergency operators to find you even if you are not logging on from your address you registered with. We'll discuss what Vonage is, and isn't doing as those delay efforts go forward. We'll tell you about a large North American city where you will be able to pay for Vonage service as part of a package with cell and cable tv.  We'll check out a Vonage VoIP Forum thread about that sale possibility I just mentioned, as well as a thread about new firmware you may have automatically received from Vonage for your Linksys RTP300 router. Finally, I added a short section explaining how I come up with those titles (like "Vonage Forum Senior") you see next to Forum Member names in the posts they put up.

There's a lot to cover today, so let us get started.

November 2, 2005

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. In today's edition, we'll learn about an IP-enabled PBX solution that has just successfully completed an interoperability test with Vonage. We'll read a 911 acknowledgement reminder Vonage sent out to many of its customers this morning. We'll check out the latest about how many people saw Vonage ads in the most recent week, and also read an article that attests to Vonage CEO Jeffrey Citron's "power." We'll check out a Vonage VoIP Forum thread in which one Member writes how he got his Linksys RTP300 router to work, and also read the latest review of Vonage as submitted by a Vonage Forum Member. And hey, the next review could be yours.

So let's get started...

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. We'll see what some of you think of proposals made by very large phone companies to charge extra for services like Vonage if you use Vonage over their line. We'll check out a Vonage VoIP Forum thread in which one Member solved his call issues by updating his router firmware, and another thread from a Member who solved his caller I.D. problems.
