Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

November 29, 2005

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. In the news, we'll tell you why today is a very important day for VoIP services in the U.S. We'll tell you how to get two months of free Vonage service. We'll look at a new article in which a financial analyst says Vonage would be better off selling its own stock than selling the company outright. We'll point you to a Vonage VoIP Forum thread from a Forum Member who all of a sudden cannot get a dialtone, and a thread from another Forum Member who can get a dial tone, but seems to be getting garbled incoming calls.

Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

November 29, 2005

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. In the news, we'll tell you about an email  letter many Vonage subscribers received over the last few days about their E911 service. Because Friday was part of our Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S., and we did not publish on that day, we'll run our popular In The Blogs feature today rather than Friday- where we call attention to what the bloggers we read regularly are writing about Vonage.  And we'll point you to a Vonage VoIP Forum thread from a reader who wanted to swap out his wireless router to a wired one, and wondered how doing so would affect his Vonage service..... Finally, we'll introduce you to our newest Vonage VoIP Forum Member of the Week.

Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

November 23, 2005

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. Because our four day Thanksgiving Holiday starts tomorrow, this will be the last Digest until Monday. Our In The Blogs feature, which we usually run on Friday, will run on Monday.

In the news, we'll look at an upgrade Vonage is performing Saturday morning. We'll also discover which Canadian cities and towns now have the option of Vonage service with local numbers. We'll look at Vonage Forum threads about those local Canadian numbers, and how one member managed to get the volume on his Vonage connection lowered to his liking. And since many of you will be packing up to visit family and friends, we'll go back for one last look at a thread I started earlier this week having to do with whether you will talk up Vonage service to the folks you are visiting.

Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

November 22, 2005

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest.

In the news, we'll look at what one reviewer for a major U.S. newspaper has to say about VoIP service such as Vonage as a Holiday gift. In that vein, we'll update you on the response to my Vonage Forum post I started yesterday about whether you might be planning to suggest to your relatives you see over Thanksgiving that they might want to sign up with Vonage. We'll also read a thread from a Vonage Forum Member who does want to sign up with Vonage, but first has a few questions about the transfer process from his current phone provider.

Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

November 21, 2005

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. First, I have some exciting news. Yesterday, we reached the 19,000 mark of Members who have come on board since we started the Vonage Forum here in March, 2003. So let us all welcome, our 19,000th Member, phibbitts. Can't wait to read your "tidbits," "phibbitts!"

In the news, we'll look at a big move Vonage is making, why one Massachusetts resident is far more happier with Vonage's service than that of his previous landline provider, and who Vonage UK customers think is the most important inventor ever to come from the U.K. We'll read Vonage Forum threads on configuring your dialplan settings, checking the wiring on a new home that has never seen "traditional" phone service, as well as a thread about what you might talk about to your relatives over the Thanksgiving table. Or, maybe after the turkey has settled and the football games are on. And this being Monday, we'll also introduce you to our Vonage Forum Member of the Week.

Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

November 18, 2005

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. In the news, we'll look at the possibility that within the next year or so, you just might have to pay a surcharge on your Vonage bill - and where that money will go. Today is our popular In The Blogs feature, and the bloggers we read regularly have some interesting posts we'll tell you about. And we'll point you to a Vonage VoIP Forum thread from a Vonage user whose computers seem to disconnect incoming Vonage calls.

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. We'll catch up with a new award a Vonage-compatible product has just won. We'll explore Vonage Forum threads in which a user wants to re-activate his Vonage router, and another wants to add a fax line but is wondering if he can do so using the same adapter he is running his Vonage service thru.

Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

November 16, 2005

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. We'll catch up with the latest on the VoIP E911 developments, find out about a key customer service award won by Vonage for its website, and see how much Vonage spent on Internet advertising in October. We'll explore Vonage Forum threads in which a user cannot hear the other caller, and one in which Line 1 and Line 2 to the whole house had not been working correctly, but the original thread poster solved the issue.

Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

November 15, 2005

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. Today, we'll read why Vonage doesn't think the U.S. Federal Communications Commission is spreading the best of Holiday Cheer. We'll show you a screen grab of a recent tour of Vonage's Network Operations center. We'll look at a Vonage VoIP Forum thread from a four-month Vonage user who all of a sudden can no longer get a dialtone, as well as another thread from a Forum Member curious about whether or not it is OK to record Vonage conversations.

Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

November 14, 2005

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. Lots of news today, so let's get started.

In today's Digest, we'll read which phone companies Vonage says are helping them get E911 service established, and which aren't quite that helpful so far. We'll read about a major national retailer that has added some Vonage equipment, and hear about a Canadian businessperson who after switching to Vonage, has slashed his long-distance call costs by more than 80 percent. We'll read Vonage Forum threads about Caller I.D. issues, and about a feature some Vonage Forum Members wished they had that could tell them when they have missed those calls in which the caller didn't leave a message. Finally, since today is Monday, it will be time to introduce our newest Vonage Forum Member of the Week.
