Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

December 29, 2005

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to our special year-end edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest.

First of all, I'd like to thank each and every one of you Vonage Forum Members, posters and readers for a great 2005. Here are some highlights from this past year:

We started 2005 with more than 4,650 Members. Just this year, we increased our Member count more than four-fold. As I write this, we are just short of 20,500 Members!

We started 2005 with more than 3,500,000 page views since our beginnings in March, 2003. It looks like we will end the year with more than 15,750,000 page views! That means that more of you are coming to the Forums every day, reading and posting.

And speaking of posting, we're ending the year with more than 10,200 post topics. That's a more than four-times leap from the start of the year, when we had 2,226 posts logged!

Our most active Vonage Forum Member this year has been reebok. Since the year started, up thru this afternoon, reebok has made 2,471 posts this year alone! That's more than six posts a day! The rest of the top five posters, with the number of posts made from January 1 of this year thru this afternoon include Trowski, 1,256; scerruti, 832; VonageTPA, and - in only four months with us - Steve48, with 689! We all look forward to reading many more informative posts from each of you guys- not only the five I mentioned, but thousands of you others!

A great number of posts were questions about new, as well as existing, Vonage products, services, and announcements. So let us review what's been in news about Vonage this year!

Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

December 23, 2005

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. Although we will publish a "year-end wrap-up Digest next Thursday, this will be our last "regular" edition of the year. My family, and I know many of yours, will be taking some well-deserved time off for Christmas!

In the news, we'll see how New Yorkers that were homebound by the subway strike could have used Vonage to get their calls forwarded from their office. We'll also read a review of Vonage and the Vonage-compatible Linksys PAP2 phone adapter written by someone who writes for a leading computing publication.  Because today is Friday, it's the day for our popular In The Blogs feature where we call attention to what the bloggers we read regularly are writing about Vonage.  We'll point you to a Vonage VoIP Forum thread from someone who would like to add additional calling capacity to his Vonage line.

Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

December 22, 2005

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest.

In the news, we'll read about Vonage's reaction to some new E911 technical standards, as well as find out about some major (as well as smaller) U.S. cities and counties that are equipped with Vonage E911.. We'll also point you to a Vonage VoIP Forum thread from a new user and new Vonage Forum Member with a question about Vonage router configuration; as well as another new Vonage customer/Forum Member whose Vonage calls seem to be forwarding to his cell phone- despite the fact he doesn't want them to do that.

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. Lots going on, so let's get busy.

In the news, we'll learn by how much Vonage is once again the leading advertiser on the Internet, and how much they spent advertising on other websites last month. We'll find out about a second member of auto racing's famous Andretti family to drive a Vonage-sponsored car. We will tell you which three large suburbs of Vancouver, B.C. Vonage is now offering local numbers in. We'll also point you to a couple of Vonage VoIP Forum threads about a lack of a busy signal and echo issues Vonage Forum Members have been experiencing with regard to setting up a fax to work with a Vonage line, and getting some router problems solved.

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. First, I have some very exciting news. On Sunday, about 8:35 p.m. Eastern Time, our 20,000th Member joined the Vonage Forum. That's 20,000 Members since we started here in March, 2003.

And guess what. Appropriately enough, our 20,000th Member's online name is VoIP_mike. Welcome to the Vonage Forum, VoIP_mike! We look forward to reading your posts.

Now, though, it is time for us to remember why we are all here: to catch up on the latest Vonage-related news, and see what you Vonage VoIP Forum Members have been talking about. In the news, we'll catch up on some big Vonage news. We'll also point you to a couple of Vonage VoIP Forum threads about voice mail and dialtone issues Vonage Forum Members have been experiencing.

December 16, 2005

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest. In the news, we'll describe how a leading Vonage exec expects their new Wi-Fi phone to be used, and learn what there is about this concept called "tolls and controls" that Vonage CEO Jeffrey Citron really doesn't like. Because today is Friday, it's the day for our popular In The Blogs feature where we call attention to what the bloggers we read regularly are writing about Vonage.  We'll point you to a Vonage VoIP Forum thread about adapter and router configuration issues.
