Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

March 17, 2006

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest.

Today is Friday, the day we normally run our In The Blogs feature. Yet because a number of bloggers who write about Vonage are still at the VON Show (which is all about VoIP) and are probably going to be blogging their thoughts over the weekend, I decided to move In The Blogs back to this coming Monday's edition. Just for this next week.

Still, there's plenty going on. In the news, we'll go over a big city newspaper's review of the Vonage service, and learn how those funny Vonage ads just might help a college student land an important new job.  We'll also go through Vonage VoIP Forum threads about using Vonage equipment overseas in an Internet cafe, as well as recommendations for adapters that work well with Vonage service.

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest.

In the news, we'll spot some Vonage equipment now on display at a leading trade show, and find out what a leading VoIP guru thinks about service fees large telco DSL providers might want to charge companies like Vonage for transmission over their networks. We'll also look at Vonage VoIP Forum threads about routers and UPS (not the delivery service, but Uninterruptible Power Supply devices).
If you found today's issue of the:

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest.

In the news, we'll see how Vonage is doing against the competition, what VoIP subscribers think of their quality of service, and also what a leading Internet expert thinks about the idea some big phone companies have proposed to charge fees to competitors like Vonage in order to ensure quality of service. We'll also look at Vonage VoIP Forum threads about call quality and what happened to a reader's Vonage service when the fiber optic cable that serves his town was cut. I'll also tell you about a very useful new area on the Vonage Forum.

First, I have some good news. In the wee hours of Sunday morning, we got our 19 millionth page view here on the Vonage Forum. page views since we launched the Vonage Forum back in March, 2003.
