Vonage In Print News

November 24, 2003

MARK HAINES, co-anchor:

The buzz today is all about wireless portability, one could
argue the Internet is netting some big gains in the phone
business. Voice-over Internet Protocol, VoIP is gaining
ground. The Baby Bells are jumping into the game, all
wanting to compete in the space with start-up firms like
Vonage. For as little as 35 bucks a month, you can call
anywhere in North America for no additional charge. It is
not free, because you are paying $35 a month.

Armed with new financing, U.S. telecom pioneer Vonage Holdings Corp. plans to launch an aggressive international expansion strategy by offering its Internet-based voice service in Canada within the next month -- a move that could shake up the competitive landscape north of the border.
