VoIP Recognition

January 26, 2004

By Donny Jackson

E-Business Legal Dilemmas Loom In 2004

January 23, 2004

By Elizabeth Millard

Internet sales tax has been a muted issue for years, but the buzz about another form of online taxation may be about to burst into shouting. On November 1, 2003, Congress let the Internet Tax Freedom Act expire -- which could mean imposition of Internet access taxes after a five-year ban.

Like TV, With Just The Commercials

January 22, 2004

Beginning Jan. 22, more than a dozen Web sites, including MSN and ESPN, will run full-motion video commercials from Pepsi, AT&T, Honda, Vonage and Warner Brothers, in a six-week test that some analysts and online executives say could herald the start of a new era of Internet advertising. "It's TV, without the television," John Vail of Pepsi-Cola told The New York Times.

Airport Extreme And Internet Telephones: Please Map My Port

Vonage In Print News

January 21, 2004

By Gene Steinberg

When someone woke up and realized that the Internet could transfer phone calls as easily as anything else, a new industry was born. But it wasn't always easy. In the early days of Net2Phone, for example, you had to don an operator's headset or a separate mic and earphone to talk to someone, and the person on the other end had to be similarly outfitted

Judge Bars Qwest From Vonage Case

January 21, 2004

By Ted Hearn

A federal judge last week barred Qwest Communications International Inc. from entering the case involving the Minnesota government's effort to require Internet-phone provider Vonage Holdings Corp. to comply with state laws for traditional dialtone providers. Judge Michael J. Davis ruled that Qwest -- the incumbent phone carrier in the state -- filed a motion to intervene that was procedurally and substantively defective, and he denied it.
