EDISON, New Jersey, and SANTA CLARA, Calif., August 24, 2004 – Vonage, the leading broadband phone company, today announced it is teaming with NETGEAR®, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTGR), a worldwide provider of technologically advanced, branded networking products, to develop a suite of broadband telephony devices. These devices will incorporate the latest version of Texas Instruments’ Voice over IP (VoIP) and Wireless LAN (WLAN) chipsets, enabling consumers to benefit from integrated broadband voice and data applications compatible with the Vonage service. First available will be a voice-enabled 802.11g wireless router followed by a wired two-port telephone adapter/router. These products are expected to be available to customers of Vonage’s innovative digital telephone service as early as October of this year in time for the Holiday season.

Vonage® Now Offers 311 Dialing For City Information Services

– Vonage, the leading broadband telephony provider today announced it is now offering its subscribers 311 dialing for city information services. Calls dialed to 311 are routed to the public information center in the customer’s area enabling them to receive information such as public transit and garbage collection schedules, as well as tourism and parks and recreation information.

“Vonage is pleased to offer its customers the convenience of 311 dialing for city information services. This is just another example of Vonage answering its customers needs,” stated Jeffrey A. Citron, chairman and CEO of Vonage.

The 311 dialing feature is available at no charge to all customers who have activated their dialing 911 service. Vonage customer access to 311 services is available in 13 markets across the US including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, Dallas and Washington DC.

Vonage Names Louis Mamakos as Chief Technology Officer

Vonage, the broadband phone company, today appointed Louis Mamakos as Chief Technology Officer, effective immediately. In the newly created position, Mr. Mamakos will report directly to Jeffrey Citron, CEO. Mr. Mamakos is responsible for overseeing all technology operations, development and planning of Vonage’s business.

Most recently, Mr. Mamakos was a fellow at Hyperchip, Inc. where he held various technical engineering and architecture roles also serving as technical consultant to the President and CTO. Prior to Hyperchip, Mr. Mamakos spent eight years at UUNET Technologies as a Distinguished Technical Member holding various engineering and architecture positions. Mr. Mamakos was instrumental to UUNET’s growth and technical vision, having guided UUNET’s technology strategy since its inception as an Internet backbone provider in 1993. A career technologist and early Internet pioneer, Mr. Mamakos wrote his first IP stack for a UNIVAC mainframe in 1981 and was the first chairman of the DNS working group within the IETF.
