Vonage Press ReleasesVonage® Launches Virtual Phone Numbers From London

Vonage Customers within the United States and Canada Can Now Have a London Number

Edison, NJ, October 26, 2004Vonage, the leading provider of broadband phone service, today announced the availability of virtual numbers with London city codes.

Vonage’s current and future customers can now select London-based virtual numbers for $4.99 USD/$7.99 CAD per month. Virtual Phone Numbers are inexpensive secondary numbers that ring to the primary Vonage line. London-based virtual numbers make it less expensive for friends, relatives and business professionals residing and working in the United Kingdom’s leading cultural and business sector to make calls to the U.S. and Canada. The people they are calling now have numbers local to their calling area.

“For several months, Vonage’s customers have been requesting the ability to have London telephone numbers to communicate with family members, friends and business associates,” said Jeffrey A. Citron, chairman & CEO of Vonage. “Vonage has responded quickly to our customers’ demands that we make keeping in contact with friends and loved ones abroad easier and more convenient by offering a local number as a point of contact, no matter where you are in the world.”

Vonage® Completes Successful “Enhanced 9-1-1” Trial For VoIP

Vonage Press ReleasesVonage® Completes Successful “Enhanced 9-1-1” Trial For VoIP Users

Key Technology Solution Provided by Intrado Used to Manage Test Calls

Edison, N.J. October 14, 2004Vonage Holdings Corp, the leading provider of broadband phone service, today announced completion of a VoIP E9-1-1 trial in the state of Rhode Island. As a result of a successful collaboration with Rhode Island E9-1-1, Vonage was able to deliver both caller’s location and call back number to 9-1-1 emergency services personnel for 9-1-1 calls placed using Vonage broadband phone service. Vonage’s partner Intrado Inc., North America’s leading provider of 9-1-1 systems and services, in concert with Rhode Island E9-1-1’s technical consultant, Arthur Kraus of AK Associates, Inc., provided the technology that enabled this service.

How It Works

When Vonage customers dial 9-1-1, the call is routed over Vonage‘s 9-1-1 server using industry standard SIP protocol. The Vonage server then queries Intrado for routing instructions. The call is then directed to the selective router that serves the Rhode Island Public Safety Answering Point (“PSAP”). Simultaneously, Intrado places the customer’s address and telephone number into the Automatic Location Information (ALI) server. The supplementary special key unique to the call is included in signaling, and allows the PSAP 9-1-1 operator to pull the customer’s address and phone number from the ALI database. Vonage and Intrado are working with other states to provide similar solutions and intend to roll them out market by market.

 Vonage® Announces Participation In Nena's E9-1-1 Forum

Vonage Press ReleasesVonage® Announces Participation In Nena's Next-Generation E9-1-1 Forum

Forum Slated to Seek the Further Enhancement of 9-1-1 Services to Integrate New Forms of Data and Information Delivery to PSAPs

Edison, NJ, October 14, 2004Vonage Holdings Corp. will become a charter member and participant of the National Emergency Number Association’s (NENA) recently announced “Next-Generation E9-1-1 Forum” to expand development of the roadmap for the future of 9-1-1 calling. The forum will be directed by NENA, and will expand on NENA’s technical, operational and policy development work for all E9-1-1 systems solutions, services and procedures.

“NENA’s announcement of its “Next-Generation E9-1-1 Forum” is exciting because it will look forward at what’s now possible and how the public could be better served by new technology, taking a ground-up approach to the delivery of emergency services,” said Jeffrey A. Citron, chairman and CEO of Vonage Holdings Corp. “In the world of IP, we aren’t limited to voice communications and can deliver much more information than just simply a phone number and street address. Why shouldn’t emergency services personnel have the ability to pull down pertinent information in an instant, such as health records and floor plans? Vonage looks forward to working with NENA to make this new functionality a reality.”

 Next Generation E9-1-1 Forum

Vonage Press Releases9-1-1 Association Announces “Next Generation E9-1-1 Forum:”

Washington, D.C.
– Upgrading the nation’s 9-1-1 systems by implementing ‘next generation’ technologies, procedures and best practices is the goal of a new forum launched by the National Emergency Number Association (NENA).

“The Next Generation E9-1-1 Forum is an open consultative process to improve our nation’s planning, leadership and innovation in the delivery of a fully functional 9-1-1 system that responds any time, anywhere from every device” states an open letter written by NENA President, Bill McMurray.

Recognizing that new innovative ways to call 9-1-1 have emerged, NENA is exploring how these same technologies, service offerings, and capabilities may in fact revolutionize the abilities of all 9-1-1 calls. The Next Generation E9-1-1 Forum is designed to facilitate that discussion.

McMurray added, “We are calling upon all 9-1-1 stakeholders and leaders to join us, as we are asking for their leadership, participation and commitment to make significant progress in realizing the full potential for 9-1-1 and emergency services.”

In the last several years, NENA has made a consistent plea to the federal government, state and local leaders and communications companies to work more closely together to accelerate the progress of E9-1-1 priority. Institutionalizing that plea and request is the impetus behind the NG E9-1-1 Forum.

 VoIP / 9-1-1 Joint Technology

Vonage Press ReleasesFirst Of Its Kind - VoIP / 9-1-1 Joint Technology

OCTOBER 14, 2004

Re: FIRST OF ITS KIND - VoIP / 9-1-1 JOINT TECHNOLOGY

To Whom It May Concern:

A new wave of technology, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP), is sweeping the country, transforming the way people communicate. With it comes a realm of issues and problems for 9-1-1 call centers and emergency service providers. VoIP technology enables a user to place a telephone call over the Internet using a broadband connection from any area code, regardless of their geographic location. This service is substantially less expensive than traditional phone calls. Until now this service did not allow a caller to place a “traditional” emergency 9-1-1 call.

Rhode Island’s Governor, Donald Carcieri and Jeffrey A. Citron, chairman and C.E.O. of Vonage Holdings Corp. (the leading broadband telephony provider) and George Heinrichs, president and CEO of Intrado Inc., (North America’s leading provider of 9-1-1 systems and services) are pleased to announce that jointly they have developed a system of capturing two critical 9-1-1 elements. Developments are ANI (Automatic Number Identification) and ALI (Automatic Location Identification) from a VoIP based emergency call, which automatically identifies the registered number and location of the device used by the Vonage 9-1-1 caller, residing in Rhode Island. This solution promotes a faster and more accurate response time for emergency services. Further, Vonage customers in RI are covered with 9-1-1 whether they have a Rhode Island or out of state area code.
