blakadher came through with the simplest but correct solution. I think I was just rushing to get things up and going and not waiting long enough for things to load up....I had to start the modem...then the router...and then the computer...but wait 3 minutes after each startup...now I'm running better than ever. I also had to disconnect the USB cord...it was complicating the issue....I didn't have to reconfigure or anything...I did perform a hard reset before turning everything back on though...

I hope this stays up and running for a while. At least I know what to do next time...thanks to you guys....You guys should get paid for this....the 4 online techs and the one phone tech person DID NOTHING and KNEW NOTHING....and they took forever to tell me that they knew nothing..lol
