Vonage so i helped my parents signup for vonage the beginning of janurary, and sent in
so i helped my parents signup for Vonage the beginning of janurary, and sent in their letter of authorization and then sat back and began to wait...
so recently, my mother asks me why is she still paying the Alltel bills. she thought Alltel was not supposed to be billing her.
after checking it out (and feeling like an idiot) i found out that the LNP had never gone through. Vonage had received the LOA and had forwarded it to Alltel, but nothing happened since then.
so i called Vonage last week and explained the situation and the rep said they would 'expidite' this ticket and that i should get a response back about the exact status of my LNP soon. still waiting for that.
not trusting Vonage to be responsible like they should, i tried calling Alltel's LNP department and seeing if they had any info or anything they could tell me. basically they couldn't tell me anything, but said that they did not have an agreement with Vonage for LNPs and thus the transfer could never take place.
i then learned about the mysterious '3rd party' LNP department/company that handles vonage's LNPs, however, when asked if i could contact them to see what was holding them up, i just get the response that 'i don't know who they are, the higher-ups do, but they don't tell us that. just trust me its being taken care of. we will contact you as soon as there is an update, which should be tomorrow or the day after.' i never recieved this contact and when i called back today, the woman i had talked to wasn't in and i had to start all over.
knowing that being angry with reps does absolutely nothing, i restrained myself from saying bullshit! but now im in this quandry and i don't know what to do...
should i keep nagging Vonage?
should i call alltel and try to figure it out of their end?
should i press Vonage and get them to transfer me to their '3rd party' and pursue it from there?
any help would be greatly appreciated.
