Concerns about Customer Service

Like the service. Like the $$ I am saving versus SBC. Only minor issues. One call to customer service relating to router exchange left me less than impressed with Vonage's flexibility and dedication to serving current customers.

I have not yet had the opportunity to see the "Great" side of VONAGE. I ordered Premium Business Service, which comes with a free fax line, and incorrectly ordered the VTEC 8100 phone with it (which does not support fax.) Since then I have spent well over an hour, multiple service reps who constantly interrupt and transfer me..."would you mind waiting a few minutes"...and they still cannot correctly do an even exchange. Here is my experience: 1) They reordered the same phone I was trying to exchange for a different one; 2) They handled the next order as if I was a new customer and assigned me a new number and charged me for a fax line; 3) They charged my account another $175 and I will wait and see how quickly they handle the credit. On the plus side, the first phone I received was easy to hook up and immediately operable...I liked that the technology works but it is like having a bunch of engineers run customer service (memories of AT&T???)

I do not like calling support who inturupts me and cannot speak English. I provide support and would ever treat my customers that way.

My experience with customer service is very positive. Acceptable wait time and almost without exception a rep who listens and has a good undestanding of the product.

I just made several calls (5 or 6) for a total of over two hours on the phone with a three-way connection to the Vonage technical "support" and the other with REGULAR long distance rates to Japan. This was in the wee hours (my time) this morning so it could be a reasoable time in Japan. I am a bit miffed with them as we were cut off several times and when I called back we had to go through the SAME troubleshooting process with a different guy that I just did previously. Each time they were no help, and eventually reluctantly transfered us to the next level of "advanced" technical support (that I asked for up front) which then played a recording saying that it wasn''t available and hung up.

Vonage is great including customer service. I actually had to use them when I became a customer and actually spoke to a US Citizen. Go figure!!! My problem was solved in no time.

A Vonage Rep No matter who they are has 12 minutes to be on the phone with you otherwise a check mark goes against that Rep and when it comes to bonus well you know. (plus the que watcher starts to beep in) So yea, need to get you off the phone is the motto, your gonna cost them money. Vonage no dout has really bad customer service and they know that.

I''m not at all impressed with Vonage customer service. I signed up with Vonage on 1/18/06. At that time, I was told it would take 20 days for my phone # to be transferred. I completed the LOA on 1/18/06 and it was sent to my carrier on the same day. It''s now 2/21/06 and my phone transfer is still not complete. As a result, I''m stuck with two phone bills. One from Vonage and one from my previous carrier. I have tried to contact Vonage to get a credit for my bill but I have not been able to talk to anyone that will help me. I was transferred to their Credit Dept. but was on hold forever. I even contacted their corporate office to get a number for their Complaint Dept. but was put on hold yet again. I have to say Vonage very helpful when I was signing up for their service. It''s just sad that they don''t seemed to care as much onced I became a customer.

I would have to agree with you on the support issue. I hate when i call in and get a guy in india who cannot speak english very well. And when told that i have been dealing with the highest tier of support they feel they must try to fix the issue when people above them had not been able to solve it. They would not transfer me. I also am not sure i like that the operators have a "time limit" to deal with a customer. I actually had a tech rep tell me they were going to transfer me up to the next level because they had run out of time for resolving the call.
