Vonage really frusterated... ive had vonage for a year or so. aside from the static



really frusterated...

ive had Vonage for a year or so. aside from the static once in a while, its okay. ive had the same setup the whole time that just started not functioning correctly. nothing changed, just randomly started being dumb and after 3 days of emails and checking things and restarting things and talking to... well... here's where i am at. here is how it is setup:

i have a dsl line coming into my house. i have a phone line that runs from the wall jack to the actiontec dsl modem. it is also a wireless modem/ router combo thing. my dsl modem/ router is connected to my Vonage device with the blue cord. it is also connected to my desktop via an ethernet cord- . (is this necessary if its a wireless modem and i dont use my desktop to access the internet anymore now that i have a laptop?) my Vonage device is connected to my phone and (until recently) it was also connected to my dsl modem/router with the yellow cord ... after a few emails and reading and resetting yada yada... i realized this connection was not necessary, so its currently unplugged.

i have a laptop that connects to the wireless signal given off by the dsl router/ modem.

recently, here is what has been happening:
1. phone cuts out when making calls - both parties cut off
2. conversation allowed for 2 mins, then cuts out one or both parties.
3. after every hangup/ cutoff, the phone says "connecting"
4. i made a few calls (attempted) watching the Vonage box and the internet light (which was lit) goes off when im in the middle of my 2 minute call.

all the lights on my dsl modem/ router are on, solid, normal.
with the phone on the hook, my Vonage device phone1 light blinks orange (i have cleared my voicemail so i dont know why it blinks orange), my internet light is green and solid and - until i unplugged the unnecessary yellow cord going back to the dsl box- my ethernet light was solid too.

am i stupid or am i missing something?
help
