As Congress gets rolling in its next session, there's an interesting debate it's going to have about the future of high-speed Internet. It's one that will affect you and your wallet directly, and one that has some interesting perspectives that cry out for discussion.

The issue is network neutrality. If the right law is passed it might prevent telephone, cable, and other high-speed-connection providers from becoming complete twerps.

High-speed Internet subscribers working and residing in the largest city on the Texas Coast can now take advantage of Vonage's broadband phone service, which offers unlimited local and long distance calling and popular features like call waiting, call forwarding and voicemail for one low, flat monthly rate. Vonage customers living near Kinney's Ranch can now keep their current numbers or choose telephone numbers within the popular (361) area code.

VoIP-based calling service provider Vonage Holdings Corp. announced on Friday that it will now serve the city of Corpus Christi, Texas. The news follows the provider's announcement about making available service in Flagstaff, Prescott, Wickenburg and Yuma in the state of Arizona.

The move will enable high-speed Internet subscribers working and residing in the largest city on the Texas coast to receive unlimited local and long distance calling and popular features like call waiting, call forwarding and voicemail. Vonage Holdings Corp. started serving Fort Collins and Loveland today, the broadband phone service company announced. The service expansion also includes Montrose.

One of the hottest recent buzzwords in technology is VoIP. VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol, turns a voice call into data packets that can travel over a network just like email or a webpage.
