Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

October 18, 2006

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest.

First, I want to tell you about a very special feature I will introduce today, and try to do once a month or so.

Ever wonder what the most popular threads are across all the Vonage Forums we have here? Well, I have just compiled a list of every Vonage Forums thread (except for stickys) that has more than 1,000 reads and which the last view was within the last 30 days. I've included a link to each of these threads. So I hope you will read and click!

In the news, we'll catch up on the progress of Vonage's efforts to deploy E911 to every Vonage customer in the United States.  We'll go over a Vonage Forum thread about a multiple-Vonage line router solution, and also a thread about call forwarding from a second Vonage line to a non-Vonage phone line. And we'll go over Vonage's stock price.

Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

October 17, 2006

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest.

I want to review some great news I wrote about in yesterday's Digest.

Early Monday morning, we picked up our 30 millionth page view here on the Vonage Forum. Considering that we reached 29 million page views back on Thursday, September 28, it took us only 18 days to go from 29 to 30 million page views. That's more than 50,000 page views a day! Every time any one of you clicks on a page here, that's an other page view. Great going!

That's not all. On Saturday morning, we passed the 90,000 mark for articles on the Vonage Forum posted by Vonage Forum Members since we started up the Vonage Forum all the way back in March, 2003. Hey, post away!

In the news, we'll spotlight a very significant jump in Vonage's stock price. We'll go over a Vonage Forum thread about managing your Vonage voice mail over your TiVo, and then a compatibility problem between a WiFi router and a Vonage router.

Over 91% of Vonage U.S. Subscriber Lines Now Have E911

Vonage Press ReleasesVonage and PSAPs Continue Working Together to Turn Up E911 For Customers Across the U.S.

HOLMDEL, N.J., Oct. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Vonage America Inc., a subsidiary of Vonage Holdings Corp., a leading Internet telephony provider, today announced that over 91% of its U.S. subscriber lines are now equipped with Enhanced 911 (E911) service -- a feature that automatically associates a physical address with the calling party's telephone number.

In less than 30 days, Vonage has equipped an additional 80 locally-run emergency call centers across the U.S. with E911 -- bringing the total number of calling centers with emergency 911 service to over 5900.

Vonage's nomadic E911 solution gives customers the ability to reach a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), or 911 center, through the dedicated 911 network infrastructure. With Vonage's nomadic E911 solution, a customer's call is automatically routed to the appropriate 911 center, with the caller's registered street address and telephone number appearing on the dispatcher screen -- regardless of where or what exchange they are calling from. Vonage will continue to turn up and test new PSAPs that are VoIP-ready every day.

Now I guess it would be best to start writing about why you're reading the Vonage Forum Digest this morning.

In the news, we'll read about a new weather service available to Vonage users, as well as highlights of an interview Vonage's Jeffrey Citron and Michael Snyder did with a leading New Jersey newspaper yesterday. We'll go over a Vonage Forum thread about wireless phone jacks used with the Vonage service, and another thread about the timing of Vonage's rings. We'll check in on Vonage's stock price. And this is Monday, which is the day when we meet our newly named Vonage Forum Member of the Week.
