Vonage Awards Advertising To Korey Kay

March 10, 2004

By Deanna Zammit

NEW YORK - Broadband telephone service provider Vonage has hired Korey Kay & Partners to create its advertising following its December split with Gardner Nelson & Partners.

A representative of the New York shop said a TV and radio campaign would break in conjunction with the opening of the Major League Baseball season.

GN&P in New York last year created a $15 million national campaign that broke in September and was tagged, "Vonage. The broadband phone company." TV spots portrayed a grassroots movement away from traditional phone service, with people posting signs that read, "Down with high phone bills, switch to Vonage."

VoIP: Whose Voice Is It Anyway?

March 10, 2004

By Gopan Madathil

During the early days of the Internet, one of the first telephony applications that migrated to the personal computer was the answering machine.

While the "techno-geeks" proudly demonstrated these to their friends, it didn’t take long for the average consumer to realize that a conventional answering machine was more convenient and less expensive than using a $1000 computer as an answering machine. The late 90’s also witnessed the migration of many more applications to the Internet, and one of them that created a lot of interest and showed some sort of promise was the ability to make phone calls from your computer.
