Vonage® Drops Residential Premium Unlimited Plan By $5 To $29.99

Subscribers Now Pay Only $29.99 Per Month For Unlimited Local, Toll and Long Distance Calling Throughout the US and Canada

Edison, NJ, May 17 – Vonage, the leading broadband telephony provider today announced its Residential Premium Unlimited Plan has dropped from $34.99 per month to $29.99 per month. Features and hardware remain at no cost, with no annual contract and a money-back guarantee within 14-days of sign-up.

”We have reached an inflection point. Vonage has put over 155,000 active lines on our network, optimizing our capital and operational expenditures and enabling us to bring additional savings directly back to those who have made Vonage the market leader: our customers,” said Jeffrey A. Citron, chairman and CEO of Vonage. “Vonage is truly a different kind of phone company focused on the consumer – not only do we drop our prices, but when we do, we automatically pass it along to existing customers, without them having to call up and demand the new plan or sign a contract.”

Internet Phones
Simple Solutions For Calling Over The Net

May 5, 2004

By Rafe Needleman

Your next telephone may not actually be a telephone. It may look and work like a phone, but it will connect to the Internet, not a telephone line, and it will cost less than today's phones. You’ll also get better features and ease of use.

Over the next few years, more products using Voice over Internet Protocol, or VoIP, will be coming online. But there's no need to wait--today's batch of Internet phone products have useful features and can save you money, starting now.

Broadband Expands Home Phone Options

May 5, 2004

By Walt Zwirko

VoIP (voice over Internet protocol) is the latest advance in personal communications. While not really a new technology, VOIP has only recently moved into the mainstream with the introduction of low-cost boxes to connect your home telephone to the World Wide Web.

Computer Corner tested low-cost home phone service from Vonage and AT&T CallVantage. Either can be used in conjunction with a broadband cable or DSL connection to replace your traditional telephone service.

VoIP: Vonage Long Distance Service

May 2, 2004

By Ronny Ko

Ever since the early days of the Internet, many startups have tried to tackle the problem of making long distance telephone calls by using the Internet. Some may remember Net2Phone or Internet Phone software companies. Many have either failed or have dramatically changed their business plans. With increasing broadband connectivity and improved network connections, large established companies as well as startups like Vonage have been vying for a piece of this burgeoning market: Voice-over-IP (VoIP) calling with a regular telephone handset.

Internet Phones: Clear Winners

May 1, 2004

By Jeff Bertolucci

Internet phones have come a long way since the early days. A few years ago, you had to use software and a PC microphone to initiate a call from your PC to a regular phone. And you probably encountered some of the most garbled, inaudible conversations since tin can met string.

Thanks to advanced technology, the call quality of Internet phones has improved dramatically. The upsurge in affordable broadband service, combined with a new breed of hardware adapters, has led to a slew of Internet phone (aka Voice-over-Internet-Protocol, or VoIP) services eager to woo you away from your phone company. The Internet phone market includes telecommunications titans such as AT&T and Time Warner Cable, Net phone veterans like Dialpad and Net2Phone, and upstarts like VoicePulse and Vonage.
