Vonage hi I am wondering if I can activate vonage in canada with a canadian area code

hi I am wondering if I can activate vonage in canada with a canadian area code then use it outside of north america. That way, while I am overseas, I can receive "local" calls from my family that they will not get charged for. I just want to register and have it sent to me, then take it with me overseas keeping the same number.

• I use Vonage Talk sometimes while I am in Germany, I don't bring my vonage device
