Im saying all this b/c I want Vonage to be better than Comcast - to me, Comcast is Microsoft.

It really shouldnt be "on the user". If you want to keep a customer, you treat him like his business is the most important asset to your company. You build a strong business like that.

So, to that end, Vonage SHOULD get involved in the install. Like Ive been saying, it is not as simple as plugging a phone jack into a wall (you will fry your phone modem). My specific situation is not uncommon. Just about every house built in Atlanta (theres like a million of em) use traditional phone lines, and have an alarm. All million of these houses would need some sort of technical support for installation of Vonage. Currently, there is none. Thats a big problem for Vonage. I talk to friends about Vonage all the time (because I like the idea, just not the execution). They are not electrical engineers, they dont want to have to go through what I did. Guess what ? They are Comcast customers for that reason because Comcast will handle it.

Vonage could get them to be their customers if they took installation seriously. Bottom line - it IS Vonage problem, and they better address it. Comcast now has Voip in Atlanta, and they will eat Vonage for lunch if Vonage cant deliver a superior product.

Superior in this case means : lower price, better customer service, as good or better performance, easier installation. So far Vonage is 2/4. I want them to succeed, so I bring all this up to help.
