I'm moving to another area code, and I'd like to have a new number in that area code, but I'd like to have a transition period where I have both my new number and my old number.
So can I add a virtual number for my new area code and then after a month or two make the virtual number my primary number and cancel the old area code number?
Or would it be best to add a new line in the new area code and then cancel the old line after some time?
Thanks, Rod |

Option one is best. It will require a phone call into CS. |

That's what I was hoping, because it looks the cheapest. But my concern was that when I wanted to drop my original area code number they would want to drop my virtual # then re-assign me a new line and number for my new area code. |

i remember reading on Vonage web site that if you move, you can change yoru number and keep yoru old number as a virtual number if you like.. they have a few different options on how long you want to keep your old number as a virtual number with different prices..
call the up and they can explain it. |

Rod, we will be going through the same thing, and when I called CS the other day you can set the amount of time you want the old number to be active. Also, they can make your old number the virtual one if you want, then cancel whenever you want. |

for nothing they'll give you your old number as a virtual number for 7 days, the other option is to pay 4.99 a month to keep the virtual number as long as you want. change of number i think is 9.99 one time. |
