Hi,
I just received my phone today and I just set it up by plugging it into a free port in my router. My friend told me that I should not have it set up this way. He said the phone should be "behind" the router. Basically, go from the cable modem, to the phone base, then to the router. Is this correct? Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Does your WGR614 support QoS? If so, leave it the way you have it and put the Vonage device with "Highest" priority, and you should be good to go. |

I don't think it has QoS. Does that mean I should change the setup? |

If you dont have any problems with it behind the router, leave it!
If it aint broke, dont fix it! |

I thought about recommending that, but what's better, doing it the "right" way now, or coming back in a month ranting about the one time in a million the boss calls and the kid starts up bittorrent at the same time... |

So technically, the "right" way is setting it up in front of the Netgear router. But do I have to set anything up in the Vonage router since that will be supplying the IP to the Netgear router? |
