At least this one's got a workaround - wait until CallerID pops, then answer. And, heck, caller ID is working now, so it CAN pop.

Gonna be tough for me to not answer on the first ring. Especially when someone has just IM'ed me and I know they are calling. But I can live with it, because at least everything appears to work...

Can't speak to the voice mail stutter. I don't get a lot of voice mail.


Time to make Natehoy feel special and leave him tons of voicemails...

As a follow up to .58 - on 12/19 after I got it overnight I woke up to no phone light on RTP-300 and no dial tone obviously- This is the first time I have had to re-boot my RTP-300 after a firmware upgrade.

Seriously, I telecommute and it's a line for people from work to call me. Since most of my communication with coworkers happens via IM, I don't get a lot of calls on it. Wink

ColdGin,

Inbound calls seem to be ok but, I am having trouble with outbound calls since getting 58. Caller ID works everytime, everytime being the 3 times I tried it. However, when I make a call, I can hear the ring, then the ring stops and I hear dead silence. It has done this on 5 out of 7 calls. Calling the person from a cell phone confirmed that they got a dead line when they answered. Also, now when I get a voice mail message the light and stutter won't clear until the messages is deleted and then deleted from the deleted folder on another call. Not that I'm complaining, but I went from no CID to basically a non working box. I'm going out of town tomorrow, so I don't really care if it isn't working while I'm gone. If it still has issues after next week, I'll get the pleasure of listening to the fine Vonage hold music.

We have apparently been seeing this as well. My wife reports that sometimes she makes a call and it disconnects when the other party picks up. I haven't rebooted the box yet to see if it has anything to do with the issue. Hopefully this is a short-lived problem.

Mine did that this AM, I powercycled everything in the setup, and was working as normal after that.

Embarassed I guess I forgot to mention what I tried. I reset the RTP300 several times. Reset the cable modem. Checked download/upload speeds. Still get the same results. Maybe small elves will sneak in and repair it while I am gone. It could happen.

Spoke too soon. Stutter dial tone, and message waiting light don't turn off.

WRTP54G, Uniden TRU8860 5.8Ghz phones. Message deleted from the keypad.

The outbound dead air issue is not related to .58

This is an issue with Paetec and a couple of other carriers, supposedly it has been resolved, but there are currently major issues open with level3, paetec and other national backbone carriers relating to customers getting dead air calls, inbound calls getting not in service messages, and getting routed to some business in chambourg illinois.
