The transmitter is an a acoustic device, your phone is placed into a cradle on the top of the unit. Your dashboard suggestion is a good one and I will look into that. Biggie |

also a bit of black magic that seems to work for fax users- go to radio shack and buy a device called a DSL Filter. Its a littel phone passthrough device that filters out all frequencies except for audible voice. Plug that into your Vonage box and plug your phone into it. Might help, might not; its only like $5. |

Since you're using an acoustic-coupler, make sure you're using a hardwired telephone instead of a cordless phone. Cordless phones always degrade the voice quality, whether by cheap parts with the analog ones or digital encoding on the more expensive cordless phones. Also wouldn't hurt to check the batteries on the coupler. Most couplers I've seen required a few batteries to function.
The DSL filter trick does seem to work for many people. I've never needed it, but have seen it make a difference with other people's setups. |
