Just for reference, this forum is not run by
Vonage
. It is run out of the pocket of a
Vonage
fan. No one is paid to post here, and though we have a few member who are employed by
Vonage
[who are here on their own time and accord], the majority of us are here because we want to be.
If you want to thank anyone, thank dconnor for running this incredible forum!
Sorry Guys, I did not know this, for when I arrived to the
Vonage
-Forum website I saw the
Vonage
logo and I assumed that this is
Vonage
owned and operated site. However, I do thank all the Gentlemen that created and run this side especially Mr. Dconnor.
Did any one have his
Vonage
service back? Please you all keep us informed of any progress.
Thanks

Qtel is not going to back up easy guys. I just had 2 friends that lost Lingo an Italian
vOIP
and a UK one.
Apparentlyu they are doing this as
VOIP
was the way also Sri lankans and Pakistanis were calling home .
Eventhough in DUBAI and KUWAIT
VOIP
is freely used by most expats, it willbe quite difficult to restore.
If anyone had developed or can propose a solution please let us know.

Post subject: Loss of VoIP Service In Qatar
Hi Guys,
Just a reminder, please do not forget to encourage, your friends and Families to continue on signing the
American Citizens in Qatar Demand Internet Phone Service Restored
petition. We have more than a 72 postings and 3800 views on our thread on
Vonage
-Forum, however, only 43 signatures on our American Citizens in Qatar Demand Internet Phone Service Restored petition. Between my family in Ohio and My friends in Maryland, I accounted for seven signatures out of the 43 signatures posted.
What happened to 3800 colleagues visiting our forum? As I said before our goal have not been met and the
Vonage
service is still not restored to any of us. We should not stop our campaign until our service is restored.
Thanks,

Post subject: Qtel & Vonage
Well Well Well
It seems to be a real serious problem with ports getting blocked. This is a frustrating issue being alone with very little or rather expensive means of communication. But this doesn't mean we start calling people by names as our dear Mr/Ms jfeigio did by calling people HALF BRAINED. Just think that everyone is doing his/her job regardless of the type. If answering to peoples calls & clarifying the issues they have no hand in is their job then its not their fault. The guys are doing exactly whats told to them. I am not defending anyone over here nor accusing anyone. Just wanted to make one thing clear that i am as angry as anyone else about this but please don't OVER REACT & start calling out names. Try and deal with the situation in a decent & effective way.

Ahmed.. Well said and I do agree with you to be positive even in this situation.. I'm personally affected a lot by this blockage and this might make me change many plans in my future if it continues like that. But, on the bright side, we have got supports from the US Embassy and that is a very powerful support. Take care all and keep asking for our rights, we will get them. The problem will be when people don;t stand for their rights. My first action that I can do is to downgrade the ADSL or even cancel it. By this way Q-TEL will find out that this is not a joke.. It is a real business decision that they are taking.
Have a nice day to all..

I'm french and of course having the same problem as everybody.
We are paying 200 QAR for nothing....As I think QTEL will not go back to their decission, I will cancel my ADSL asap. For chating I need only land line that's all.
That's the thing that gets me about QTel's decision. How many of us are paying extra for ADSL (especially the higher speed versions), so we can use
VoIP
? And if they block it, why do we need ADSL?
Cutting off their nose to spite their face.

Post subject: THEY DO NOT CARE
Guys
Be serious.
Qatar has the 4GDP in the world . do you think they care if 50 or 100 people cancel their adsl?
they care less. lets try to find a solution is will be more productive
and the employees are state employees . they would not care less if you send them a petition or not. If the political pressure does not resolve the problem we must find a technical workaround.
