Ok, forget all the technical issues, the fact still as is, QTel did close the gates on
VoIP
.
Our fight is more than packets and ports, becuase that will end up being chasing our tails.
Send a message to the US embassy, asking them to do more

Post subject: Qtel Internet Service
No one really knows what is happening with Qtel internet service including their own Customer support. Some customers have
VoIP
service, some have limited
VoIP
and some have none. How could this be? Lately I noticed that my internet service is not as fast as before, my down load speed is hovering around 200 to 300 kbps and my upload speed around 100 kbps. This internet speeds is low for a good
VoIP
connection and will ultimately lead to a poor service. As for me, I am one of the fortunate Qtel customers with a working
VoIP
service that is acceptable even though the quality of service not as good as it was before the Qtel block. I included my Hardware information in my signature below for your information.

Dear Sirs,
I am a customer of yours having telephone line 4670607 with ADSL connection .
Since December 8th I noticed the following.
1. My speed was drastically reduced. I called QTell service 2 times . They did reset the line but nothing happened.
2. I am unable to visit a number of sites I did visit before as all my efforts are timed out.
3. Almost all my ports are now blocked and cant do a series or works that I did before,(remote access,
VOIp
, terminal server emulation etc)
You technicians failed to correct the problem. Customer service operators gave me a number of different answers every time I called also told me that QTEL was installing some new equipment and Service will be altered. If that is true would business ethics and rules require QTEL to inform their customers before changing any of the service??
At least this is my understanding of dealing with TELCOs in any country of the world. !!!
I am pretty sure that the issue was mishandled as you want to give "superior customer service" . I would appreciate if someone could look seriously in the matter and correct as sioon as possible any faults.
Can I please have an official answer what is happening with my ADSL service.
Thank you for your attention

The attachements that follow are taken as screen shots from the tests I did to spot the problems.

Did I understand your post correctly? Your email was deleted without being read. This is unethical and not acceptable. What happened to Qtel claim of Superior Customer Service and Bringing People Closer Together?
This reinforces my previous statement that Qtel have a limited Internet capability resulting from a poorly managed network. Qtel have installed this
VoIP
block (filter) because of not only good business decision and greed. However, Qtel wanted to limit our internet access and hide the fact, and not expose them selves to the "#$!&%^#?", that they have a poor network with limited capability that is unusable and cannot keep up with the Qatari growth and expansion. Qtel want to milk their customers from every Riyal they can get out of them with minor network and infrastructure improvement before the deregulation of the industry in few years (make the most profit with lowest expenditure).
Naturally, the Customers are the victims of this colossal greed and conspiracy!

Post subject: Qtel customer service
Thats exactly what I got. My message deleted without even being read automatically . I had an notification option in the outlook and they did not even open the message and then delete. They deleted automatically and thats how I got the answer.
In fact this is their dedicated email acocunt for enquires and complaints.
Thats how they treat customers....
Does anyone still belive that we will find our right???

This quite ironic, If a telecom monopoly cannot even turn off their email tracking messages, how can they build a 21st century infrastructure for such a booming country ??

I did send a News alert to CNN and BBC; however, you should wash your hand from Jazeera Channel, Remember where it is located? I also left a News thread in Baltimore Sun (my local paper in Baltimore, Maryland). However not many people joined the discussion and comments.
The only way to get our problem covered in world media is for a government spokesperson, public officials or an Ambassador talk about this issue in a press release or in an interview. Any one has a favor with or knows a prominent public official..
It is Ironic to say that we do not have much support out side or inside Qatar. As a colleague said to me few days ago, why you still care about this issue, your
VoIP
was restored.
