Post subject: SB4200 and VT1005v issue
I have recently taken
Vonage
Phone. My Internet cable service provider has provided Motorola SB4200 modem and i am using VT1005v phone adapter. My connection is something like this: Cable-->SB4200-->VT1005v-->PC + Phone.
Now the problem I am facing is that my phone (and so the internet connection) gets hang once in a day (sometime twice). Before going for
Vonage
, I didn't face any problem with Internet. Because of this problem, I never know that my phone is dead (till the moment i discover it). If i reboot Phone adapter(vt1005v) then it again start working.
Can any body please why this is hapening and where the problem lies? Is there any compatibility issue between these modems? Due to this I am loosing important phone calls.

Post subject: MTA -Rebooting the device often !!!
guess there should be some compatibility issue with the modem and the motorola. check for the DOCSIS version on the modem. If it is 1.0 upgrade it to 2.0 or higher version by contacting ur internet provider.
If u feel like loosing any important calls during the outage of phone service. Then why dont u enable the network availability no in ur web account so that u dont loose important calls...............
