Excellent information in this forum! How ironic I just was reading about the reference to the "spreadsheet" when I called Vonage asking for a status, and the woman mentioned she was going to check exactly that.
Has anyone received any useful information from Vonage after calling them to check a status, and being told they could receive an email with more specific transfer information (i.e. date/time I think) within a certain time?
I was just told this. Not holding my breath, but hopefully it's a sign I'll learn more soon.
Also sounds like Vonage is pretty used to giving customers a month of credit for each additional month the process gets delayed. (the 20 days estimate they give is 20 business days, BTW for those that don't know).
Although I most certainly can make an analogy to what AOL did with the big advertising they did years ago, without the infrastructure to support the huge increase in customers, at least they do credit your account.
Would be nice if the local phone Co and/or the third parties they work with could get a more efficient process of handling the volume of transfer requests, however I'm not surprised this has happened especially after dealing with service providers for quite a while now.
At least I have a fairly stable Vonage connection it seems so I can make outgoing calls from my one Vonage phone. |

FYI, anyone who has not contacted Vonage about getting their number transfer resubmitted (and who has been waiting over a month from the LOA submission), may get some expedited service by contacting their LNP department (shown in another thread on here I just realized).
Sorry for any redundancy - I found this info through a Google search, and those who don't read much of this forum might find the info below useful.
From an email I got today:
"We just resubmitted the transfer. We are now working with your
telephone carrier to complete the transfer process. Please note that
your transfer may take at least 15-20 business days from the date
above. Please keep in mind that Vonage will process your request as
quickly as possible.
Please be on the lookout for our next e-mail notification that will
state the scheduled processing date of your number transfer.
You will be hearing from us soon. If you have any questions regarding
your number transfer, please contact us at:
Toll Free Phone: 866-496-6359
Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm EST
Email: numbertransfer@vonage.com " |
