Post subject: Static IP Gateway revert to 0.0.0.0- temp resolution
Finally got through to Level 2 support (after trying to assure the level 1 tech that hard resetting the router an eleventh time is likely to produce the same result as the first ten times) and the call terminated when the Level 2 tech put me on hold. I sure hope they're not using

. It has not been a good experience for a new customer. After calling back and avoiding the twelfth hard reset I was put through to the Level 2 tech who told me there was nothing he could do. I was then transferred to a sales guy who clearly had been briefed on my frustration, and he offered to take back the WRTP54G and replace it with the RTP300. He also agreed to refund the $29.95 that the WRTP54G cost over the RPT300.
I discovered that the WRTP54G worked if it was set to accept a dynamically assigned IP address and I configured it to work behind my existing router by disabling the LAN DHCP and setting it to accept a dynamic IP address from my router. My existing router has a wireless access (802.11b) and I was hoping to replace it with the 802.11g

router. With that functionality disabled, it made no sense to pay

the additional $30 for a non-functioning unit. Hopefully, I will be able to configure the RTP300 similarly behind the existing router and move on.
I'll keep you posted.
