Correct. Each ethernet connection requires a port in a switch, router or hub.

Are you just trying to crimp on an rj-11 connector? This image might help.
More information is available from the UVI Wiring Standards Site.
I prefer to wire in a modular jack
and then use line cords to connect to equipment. In your case I would actually put in two jacks. The second jack would connect the brown pair to the green and red posts as well. |

Nice! Guess I will have to go back to the rj-45 splice. Hell might just put a gig switch in there, if the cables are cat-5e. Gotta be careful cuz my cables are getting shorter cuz of all the cutting
Why would you do modular? Why not just phone cable from block input to Vonage phone 1 port? |

Probably because that is the way I have always done it. It stems from the fact that until Voip there has always been some type of separation between the phone company side of things and the telephone company side of things.
If I were attempting to locate a wiring problem after the fact it would be easier to have a jack than a plug to work with.
It avoids having a loose cable hanging from the input block. Since that cable is connected to a jack then there is less chance of something coming along and yanking it off the block.
The best reason is if someone else comes after you who does not have Voip it is going to be easier for them to understand how to connect to the house wiring. |

Punched red to blue/white and green to blue, but now all the Vonage adapter does for the phone 1 port is blink repeatedly? Any idea why? |

If the adapter still works when a phone is connected directly then it may suggest a wiring problem in your house wiring.
Start by disconnecting all of the phones from the jacks. Then power cycle the adapter and see if you still have an issue. If that works, reconnect the phones one at a time.
If unplugging the phones doesn't work I would diagnose it by disconnecting the blue pairs from all of the output jacks and then reconnecting them one at a time until you have identified the problem.
At the jacks where you have computer equipment make sure you haven't included the blue pair or the brown pair. It shouldn't make a difference but you never know. |

I think it should be red to blue and green to blue/white. |

Has to be something cuz I just can't it to work
I finally figured out that I have to run a cat-5 from the wall in the house into an rj-11. So do I use the blue/white blue combo in the same order that they are punched down on the panel? Or do I assume that the green and orange pairs are present and skip pins 1,2,3, and 6? |

If I understand what you are asking, you just use the blue pair for phone. However, I am not entirely certain exactly what your question is. |
