I purchased the IP 8100 with the base unit and two Vteck phones. The MAC number is on the base unit. |

Do all the current IP 8100s have this problem or just the ones at Best Buy? I'm wondering if the ones shipped to Circuit City were entered in the database by chance.
Also, does the problem affect existing subscribers who want to upgrade to one of these phones (and call Vonage to give them the MAC address) or just new subscribers trying activate on the Vonage website?

For what it's worth, I had to purchase a new 'vonage phone adaptor' today, as the linksys which was sent to me when I signed up flaked out and had to be swapped out.
The MAC address of my new router was given to a Vonage customer support guy, and I was up & running within 20 minutes.
Surprised me too.  |

The Vonage supervisor told me it was all the phones sent to Best Buy. I'm not sure if it was all Best Buys or the BB in the Madison, WI or the midwest. He also said the problem was fixed. Of course my phone still did not work (it's working now).
I did ask him if this was only with the Best Buy phones, he said it was.
It took me a week and two different phones systems to get Vonage to help me and also figure out what was wrong. How anyone is able to get one going with this company in 20 minutes amazes me, based on my experience.
I would purchased your phone from anyone else just to avoid the chance they may not work. |

It seems to be those phones along with retail stores. I know Sams or one of the big warehouse guys were having similar issues. |
