I am using my Vonage in Mexico (Cancun area) - been working great until today at 4pm. No more dial tone. I have run testyourvoip and speakeasy.net speed test - both report fairly good numbers. Testyourvoip reports a 3.6 and Speakeasy has me at 350 kbs down and 110 kbs up speed. These are results through the Vonage linksys router Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next - I have heard the rumors of the isp blocking access - is there a way to test for that? Thanks - MT |

The Mexico blocking is real, but not in months.
Your up-speed (what really matters) is not great. what is your full testyourvoip report? |

Here in Sonora Mexico, service OK
Maybe the problem is the ISP (telmex o cable company) |

Don't really understand why but today the lights are correct, dial tone fine and calling is working fine. Would really like to know the reason but am glad it is working - it has worked very well for months.
Is there a test like tftp/ping/telnet or some other command that can verify I am able to connect to the Vonage server over my network?
Thanks,

4:00 o'clock again and now after 2 or 3 minutes the calls drop
Is there any other network checks I can try besides testmyvoip and speakeasy?
Help and Thanks - Mike |

If I turn the box off for 20 minutes and then back on it works fine for a while and then stops working - if I put it in front of a fan it seems to work fine too - I guess I need to call Vonage and ask for a replacement?
Is there any command ping/tftp/telnet etc - I can run from a pc to verify my connection to Vonage is working - curious.
