Anonymous calls are the worst.

My solution? Derived many years ago when my kids were teenagers. Caller ID and an answering machine. If I don't recognize the number, then they can talk to the answering machine. If I like what you say to the machine, I might pick up. If not, then they can have an intelligent conversation with the machine. (The machine doesn’t care and it’s not picky who it talks to) If they persist in calling back, then the question of what are you wearing is mild compared to the questions I will ask when I do answer the phone.

The solution is not perfect, but it’s sometimes a lot of fun. The end result though is that Vonage needs to add ACR / ACVM NOW!!!!!!

Nice thought but it really wouldn't work for me. I'm going to give it another month. If Vonage can't pick up my Area code and ACR by January I'm afraid I'll have to shift to a Voip carrier that has both those features. I really have a need for ACR and I can't drop my copper line until I can get a local 541 area code.

The problem I have with changing carriers is that the Vonage line works and works well. Also the toll-free number is well established after a year of use.

Still, Vonage does not seem to be very truthful and forthright about what there doing. I was told by them last January that both ACR and my area code would be available very soon. Now, when you ask they will not even give you a direct reply.

If you're willing to spend $100, this caller id manager looks pretty impressive. You can block out #'s or groups of #'s or have it an "invited only". With invited only, unless they are in you're pre-approved list, they don't get through. Here's the link. It's from Privacy Corps and according to the website, they list the President of the company's home phone # - and if your call gets through, you get $100.

I purchased a Caller ID Manager from Privacy Corps. The functions are really great, but my PAP2 would constantly send a signal to it that would cause it to recognize a call every 20-25 seconds. So--when a real call would come in while it was handling the "phantom signal", the real call would be sent to voicemail.
Their tech support is great, they sent me a line filter, but it still didn't work. Not sure what I'm going to do from here. I may get another adapter. I will keep the Caller ID Manager though and get it to work eventually.

I have a similar device called a Bouncer 200, bought a few years ago. Works great. Problem I have is sister and a friend use a calling card, plus phone calls from work come from some cental pool number. I plan on getting the WiFi phone, and just turn it off when I'm sleeping.

I am fed-up with all of the anonymous calls and I want to stop them now! Mad
I am on the Fed and State Do-Not-Call lists but still receive too many!

Odd,

I saw a Vonage commercial on TV the other night. On it were a list of all the features that came with Vonage. One of them was "Call Blocking" The items were plastered all around the screen, not in a neat row and they only showed that screen for about 5-6 seconds but it was there. They ran the ad again later and I paid attention.
What's in an ad?

Perhaps they were referring to International Call Block or Caller ID Block.

I'd also like anonymous call rejection and the ability to block specific numbers...I have this one person who keeps calling me and I'd like to block their number. The rejecting of the "Private Numbers" would be nice, but I"d like to be able to block specific numbers more.

I too have been waiting much too long for Anonymous Caller Rejection ACR. I am going to switch. There are other Voip companies who now have it and those companies are expanding. Vonage seems to have reached it's peak and can't afford a person to program such a simple thing routine.
Pathetic... not only that, but, recently I have experienced all kinds of problems with voicemail. Vonage is just getting more and more undependable.
I need a more reliable telephone system.
