Hi,
I've just been shipped out an RTP300, which I am going to use in India. I want to know how to set the bandwidth saver option for this to 30kbps. On the features tab of my account online, there is no option to change the bandwidth setting of this new RTP300, but only for another line using an ATA-186 which I have had for a while. (There is no option to set call waiting for this new number either, but that is less important for now.)
How do you change the bandwidth saver setting on a RTP300?
Any help would be appreciated because there is no way that Vonage is ever going to work in India unless I reduce the bandwidth to 30kbps!
Thanks. |

I'm using the RTP300 and the bandwidth setting is available in the features section of the website. The telephone number associated with your RTP isn't available in the drop down menu? If not, I'd call customer support and ask them to fix it. |

If you have a Vonage device, which is activated on your Vonage account, then the bandwidth saver and other settings for that device should be available on that web account. If they are not you need to call customer care.
Is that line showing up in voicemail, meaning do you have an opportunity to change the voicemail settings for the line that is associated with the RTP300? Do you actually have the new rtp300 in hand or is it being shipped because you ordered a new number? If that is the case then you may need to wait a day or 2 before the device gets provisioned and sent to you. |

Thanks for your replies.
Yes, I can change other settings such as Voicemail for the line associated with the RTP300. Only ones I can't are Bandwidth Saver and Call Waiting.
The RTP300 is being shipped to me (but not yet sent out -- inaccurate wording in my original post).
I gave Vonage a call and spoke to a customer service rep who explained to me that since this new number is not my "primary" number, I cannot change bandwidth saver settings online. I called her on her BS, and I told her it didn't make any sense. She said "that's just how it works".
She transferred me over to a tech support guy, and I spoke to him, and he told me that since the device wasn't yet provisioned, I wouldn't see these options yet. He said that once it's shipped out to me, I should see the number appear in Bandwidth Saver.
I hope this is the case! For now, I guess everything is okay. I really hope it works because the device will be useless to me unless it works at 30kbps (it will be running on a 64kbps DSL line). |
