Hello, I have a bit of wierdness with my Motorola ATA. Yesterday I disconnected it from my network and powered it down for about 6 hours. When I finally got it hookup back up and turned on, it would not work. It still does not work. No dialtone, or anything else. I made no changes to my network hardware or configurations. I checked to see if the settings of the Motorola ATA had reset, but they were still the same. Does anybody have any idea why this happened? Also, I have two other phones (running on Cisco ATAs) that just make a clicking sound. Any ideas on that? |

Since all your adaptors don't work, it could be a problem on Vonage's end. It happend to me recently and drove me crazy.
If you disconnect the MTA, do your Cisco units start working again? You might also try hooking a computer up to the back end of the MTA to see if you are getting an internet connection. Also, if the power light is flashing on the MTA, the pattern of flashes gives an indication of the problem. |

Well, I figured out why my Cisco ATA (I put an s afterwards in my last post, my bad) wasn't working, or more accurately, I smelled it. It fried. I picked it up when I unplugged it, and it burned my hand. The Motorola is running a bit warm, but I'm wondering if this is normal for it. My other two Cisco ATAs are working fine. |

Did you mix up the power adaptors? I'm not familar with the Cisco unit, but if the power jacks are the same, but the adaptors are different, (voltage, polarity, etc...), it's possible you switched them and did some frying. Just a long shot... |
