It seems to be common knowledge around here amongst the regulars that one shouldn't email Vonage for support, because you won't get a response - you have to call (and often sit on interminable hold.) But this is not common knowledge amongst customers across the board, and given the fact that Vonage claims to offer customer support via email, I think its totally unacceptable that they apparently pay no attention at all to emails. New posters here are constantly complaining about this. It was brought to my attention again in the marketing-inspired thread about "are you going to hype Vonage to your relatives over the holidays?" by this poster:

vonaerger wrote:
It's been a month now for me with no response at ALL of ANY sort to the various emails I've sent them about the Caller ID issue. Not even a "message received, we'll get back to you" automated reply.

My last email about a week ago said "answer THIS damn email or I'm cancelling my service". Still no reply. Not a word.

So, the obvious question is - why does Vonage "claim" to offer support via email, when apparently they pay no attention to emails whatsoever? This is really quite abominable customer service.

Dan - since you have the ear of Vonage executive management, what say you? Or more to the point - what say they?

They have email support? Oh, I thought the email tickets I submitted just fed the Langoliers or something. Wink

Well good. If they're definitely reading, it will be interesting to see if its a concern to them that the response rate to support emails appears to be ZERO, or if the issue of offering a means of customer support with a zero response rate just isn't at all important to them.

Although customer support responsiveness varies from company to company, I can think of no others that offer a form of customer support where there is apparently never any type of response whatsoever. I sure hope that its not the kind of service, or reputation, that Vonage wishes to have.

Vonage, your customers are eagerly waiting your response - or continued non-response...

Heh heh heh. Figured someone would get the reference, and I looked for a while to try to find that picture. Good find!

I've gotten replys when I's sent an e-mail for tech support. Of course I use the elusive dslreports address. Never have gotten a confirmation which would be a good thing to know that they have received it and there was not routing problems.

That's "dslreports@vonage.com", or what? Kind of pathetic that that works when submitting a ticket off their own website is ignored, but whatever works, I guess.....
