Only occassionally at first (about 2 months ago), now very frequent. The line goes dead while on a call, internet service on computer(s) stops functioning. Almost impossible to have a conversation for longer than 5 - 10 minutes. Sound quality is good to excellent when I am connected. Spped test results seem good as well.

I have an SB4200 cable modem (Comcast HSI) with BEFSR41 router and PAP2 adapter.

When this occurs, I reset the router and everything back to normal in seconds.

Anyone have any idea where to start? I would like to upgrade router if this will help, but maybe the modem is the problem. How do I find out?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Does the the same thing (minus Vonage not working) happen without the PAP2 connected?

If you have 2.anything gigahertz phone you need a 5.6 ghz or 900mhz. I would highly reccommend 5.6 ghz

uh, few things, it's 2.4 not 2.anything, 5.8 not 5.6, and he has no wireless computer or network devices, so why would it make a difference?

Make sure you've got the latest firmware version on the BEFSR41.

I too have been increasely getting dropped calls. It's now getting to the point where it's not worth the savings from Vonage. I am using the RT31p2 w/ 1.30.01 firmware. I will attempt to call Vonage to resolve the issue, but I don't have any expectations.

I don't have any failures other than the call being dropped. If I redial, I get connected. Sometimes, there is not dial tone which I am assuming that the router is re-connecting to the Vonage Voip servers.

I have the same problem and am getting pissed. I have had this issue for 6 months. Any suggestions.

On a second note, I have recently purchased a uniden multi handset cordless phone and am having trouble having it disconnect from Vonage.

Um, actually he was talking about the cordless phone frequencies. So he is pretty smart, and you have proven the opposite about yourself.
