I currently am using the wireless here at the hotel through my wireless pc card and ICS...the speeds look like this...
Download 1,191,480 bps Upload 323,832 bps QOS 90% RTT 31 ms MaxPause 188 ms
I am getting some choppiness and was thinking of buying a wireless router and then plugging the RTP300 into the wireless router..
Think I would notice a better call quality?
I should probably heed my own words and add this...
Test Details The information below explains why your call quality score (MOS) was less than perfect.

it's hotel wireless right? so you would need a wireless bridge, not router. some routers have bridge capability and/or firmware that adds it. |

Sorry about that...You are right rebook. Any you could recommend? I was thinking the WRT54g with Sveasoft fw...
The problem was that my wireless antenna on my pc card was damaged when I shipped it from FL to RI and sometimes needs to be fixed during the day...
I would need to have the PC and the RTP300 connected. |

there are some linksys bridges or some people use game adapters. linksys makes those too. the wrt is good but I don't like sveasoft, though most people do. search for wireless bridge and you'll see a lot of posts and device recommendations. |

Consider the softphone. No hardware to lug and all you need is the wireless connection.
I think you would be amazed at the softphone voice quality. use a digital headset to reduce PC processing. (laptop sound cards are usually trash anyway) |

it's not open source firmware and no third party is available for it, so no it isn't the one to get if you want 3rd party stuff. |
