During a call whenever I hear the call waiting beep, sometimes I just let the call forward to voice mail. Whenever I finally hang up, shouldn't my stutter dialtone and message waiting light activate? It only works when someone leaves a message when callwaiting is not involved in the process. |

My problem is that the stutter continues long after I've deleted the email. It should stop right away |

I have found that the way to get the stutter to stop is to make sure to press the "* key" after listening to your messages. |

Marsh -- great TIP.
The voicemail system has to send a 'message' to the switch telling it to send a signal to your Cisco or MOT box telling it to turn on/off stutter dial tone.
If you exit voicemail properly (using the '*') the voicemail system immediately sends a proper message out.
Otherwise, the voicemail system does a periodic 'garbage' collection routine looking at where message have been heard but msg waiting is still on and send the appropriate message out.
This routine may only be run once every 15 to 30 minutes or long (as set by the system admin). |

I experienced a reversal of this problem the other day. Just to satisfy my techie side I set my call forwarding up to ring home 25 sec -> ring cell 15 sec -> FW to voicemail. Sure enough the call rang through as specified, yet the Message Waiting light never illuminated on my home phone and I didn't get a stutter tone despite the fact that there was a new message when I dialed in (*123) to check my messages. Has anyone had this problem? It doesn't make much sense at all because I have never had an issue with the message waiting light or stutter tone previously or after deactivating call forwarding. |

Mine has never worked. Stutter tone or the message light.

| Quote: | | Also have the netgear router set up in the equation too. Seems like while I was gone, the moto box **** itself and I had no dial tone but I did have 'net access just fine. Weird huh? |
Not so wierd. It happens to me about once a week. I wrote customer support. They said tech support will help you out. My issue is that this should not be happening in the first place. It is easy to get phone service back. Reset the router. I loose dial tone too often. |

When I had the Moto in front of the router I would loose everything. Now that it is behind the router I only loose the dialtone. |
