Post subject: New to VOIP, new to Vonage.
Hi guys, I was wondering if I could get a little bit of help regarding my move to
Voip
.
My main reason for switching is to hopefully have a better service at a cheaper price with more calling features. Did I mention I can't stand bell?
Anyway, not only do I want to swtich to
Voip
but I also want to implement a few practical features which as I understand it, Asterisk@Home will do for me. I've been doing a lot of research and forum searching, but I'm a bit confused as to what I need, and whether or not I can do what I want in the first place.
I want to:
- Whitelist / blacklist calls based on numbers / time of day
- Have my own custom voicemail, like bell or telus would provide
- Use 1 line, split from one main jack to all in house & use POTS phones
I believe Asterisk@Home can do this for me.
This is how I want to / think I need to set it up:
Internet -> Router ->
Vonage
ATA -> FXO (X100P)? -> AAH Box -> (Master jack) -> All jacks in house -> All POTS phones.
Is this correct? Can I achieve this? Do I need the X100P?
Thanks in advance.
