I would appreciate if someone could verify this problem for me.
Upnp does not work correctly on the Linksys RT31P2 ATA supplied by Vonage in the UK. The firmware version I am running is 1.30.01 which is the latest released. The annoying thing is linksys were having problems with Upnp on their other products (WRT54G and WRT54GS and BEFSR41 to name a few) 12 months ago and finally resolved them.
To verify the problem you need to login to the RT31P2 and enable Upnp on the administration page. You then need to ensure Upnp is enabled in WinXp by going to "view network connections", then select the "advanced" tab and then select "optional networking components". Then select "networking components" and then click "details". Ensure "Internet gateway device discovery and control client" and Upnp user interface" are both selected then ok and come out.
If you now go to network connections you should be able to see your ethernet adaptor and there should now be a Internet Gateway Icon which if working correctly should show the status of "connected", if not is will show "disabled"
Upnp is required for MSN etc to work fully and linksys have a track record of screwing it up.
If you are able to verify this please let me know. I have raised a ticket with support but they will be reliant on linksys so I won't be holding my breath
