Which type of Linksys router did you have before? Was it the RT31P2?
The problem doesn't make a lot of sense assuming you are able to access the Internet on all the computers. However, just to check a few things:
Try going on each computer and go to the command prompt (Start/All Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt) and type "ipconfig" (without the quotes) and press enter. Write down the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway for each computer. All the IPs should be 192.168.15.X (where X is a number between 2 and 254 and each one should be different). All the subnet masks should be 255.255.255.0 and all the default gateway should be 192.168.15.1. If they are not right, do the following at the command prompt:
ipconfig /release <enter> ipconfig /renew <enter>
If they still aren't correct or you get an error message, then you probably have static IPs set. Post here for further instructions.

Are your computers set up on DCHP (automatically get an IP address from router) or did you assign each computer it's own IP address? If they are set up on DCHP, you may have to release & renew the IP to get it working again.
Goto Programs / Accessories / Command Prompt (WinXP) Once the Command Prompt comes up, type in "IPconfig/release" and hit Enter. After it goes through its thing, type in "IPconfig/renew" **No quotes for either**
This will make it get new IP address from the router and may fix your problem .... You will have to do this for each computer on the network though. I'm guessing one of the computers may be hung on the subnet of the old router/adapter and it's not renewing the IP address/subnet.
**Edit** Looks like Maaz is thinking the same thing, he just types faster. |
