I've noticed lately how slow the Vonage site* has been loading for me. When I've done Vonage's Voip speed test I get a download speed of around 2.8-3Mpbs. If I do the same test at the link below I consistently get high 5's-6. Do you think it could just be the Vonage site?

http://myspeed.visualware.com/voip/

I'm hoping the 5-6Mpbs are the correct speed I'm getting.

*EDIT* I'm speaking about the Vonage Forum site.

Yes, I said that with the Vonage test I got 2-3Mpbs downloads and 5-6Mpbs downloads at the myspeed site. I have Comcast as my ISP provider.

this is not "the Vonage site"
vonage.com is "the Vonage site"
comcast users seem to have issues with the test.

The Vonage speedtest has always been off for me. This one from Speakeasy seems pretty good.

Hmmm. If I go to the Vonage web site, and select "help" from the menu and then the speed test from the list of questions, I get a test screen that looks the same as the one I get by following Dan's link. However, the URLs are different, and Dan's test site gives me results _much_ slower on download than the other one does. www.bandwidthplace.com gives me a download speed compatible with the higher number.

It looks exactly like the visualware test, and I get similar results from the visualware, vonage.com, and vonage-forum.com test. Lower, but I knew from using mutliple sites what my average speed was. I personally feel you need at least 3-5 different sites average to get a true picture....

I get 5.8-6Mbps from Speakeasy and testmy.net too and again if I go immediatley to Vonage forum's test my Voip is in the 3Mbps range.

It's just weird that only Vonage forum's test my Voip gives me the lower results......consistantly.

Keep in mind that any test you run tests not only the link from you to your ISP, but also the rest of the link from your ISP to the test facility. Different test facilities have different links. The slowdown at the Vonage Forum test site may be near their end and not near yours.
