I heard Vonage changed the compression format for the email/voice mail attachment this past weekend and would like to have someone confirm this.

I have Vonage set up to send an email to my Palm Smart phone (Treo 650) and it worked fine since I purchased the phone.

This past weekend the Treo was unable to play the Vonage Voice Mail attachments. I was told it is because of the new format.

So if you own a Palm or other smart phone and use it to listen to your Vonage voice mail (through an email attachment) please let me know what product you use to listen to the WAV file.

Thanks,
Joe

I also have Vonage set up to email my voice messages to my cell phone (Moto V600 on Tmobile) and have not noticed any problems playing back my voicemail files. Although somewhere between Vonage and my cell phone, the .WAV file gets converted to a .AMR file. I am not sure where the conversion is taking place, since when I have the voicemail sent to a regular email account and not my cell phone, it comes through as a .WAV.

I have exactly the same problem...
Cannot listen to my Vonage voicemails on my IPAQ hx2410 pocket pc for 2 weeks.

Vonage has changed the standard 16 bit PCM format to 8 bit CCITT u-Law. I have made a lot of web searches to find a software to read this format, but I did not find anything yet.

Is there anybody outside who could help us with this problem ?

I found a product which will play the messages. mVoiceMail from www.motionapps.com will play them but it's like $20 for the software. I hear tcpmp (freeware) will play it but I have not got it working yet.

I can't get TCPMP to read my voice mail messages. Did you install all the plug ins or just TCPMP?

I must be doing something wrong here...
