I am comparing both Vonage and Packet 8. Possibly going to get both for 2 different locations. Anyway here is my question, is there any workaround for packet 8 and security alarm systems such as ADT, Brinks and so on. I have read the one on Vonage, and I am amazed at how much information you have all provided. Also is there a good forum to read for Packet 8. Also I am wondering about the following.
1. If I order both Vonage and Packet8 without any number portability, which I am likely to get first?
2. What is the deal about getting a free month with Vonage? |

negotiator04,
1. You will receive Vonage services almsot right away. What I mean is you will have access to your account the moment you sign up. The other problem/slow up will be waiting for the device itself. Depending where you are it could take up to 5 business days to get to you via UPS.
2. There is some offers at Bestbuy.com and Radio Shack that have 2 free months(last i saw 1/26/04) and self install kits. Check it out. |

You said the one with Radioshack or Bestbuy is a 2 months free promotion? Does any of them include a contract, in addition in case it does not work very well, what is the return policy with those guys. I am hoping someone must have use a 3rd party to buy their service. |

Just sign up through radio shack and get your device. I am sure Vonage has a deal with them that when you hit their service you are set for 2 months of service. If any questions call up Vonage. IMHO |
