Problem leaving a message when using Vonage line

I tried to call my mom at her work today (she works at a community college) using our new Vonage line and it would not let me into her voice mail to leave a message - it kept saying that she wasn't subscribed to the system. I then tried again using our Telus line that we haven't disconnected yet and her voice mail came up no problem with her personal message and everything.

Has anyone encountered an issue using Vonage to call places with large phone systems and not be able to leave a message for someone there?

Just seemed like a weird thing - I'm thinking it's maybe because it's a large system that I was calling and it doesn't recognize the new number that I'm calling from because Vonage is so new here.

thas kind of strange.. maybe the system is not recognizing the DTMF tones that are being sent from your phone with Vonage.. there have been some mentions of ppl having trouble using automated systems.. the complaint wa that the DTMF was not being passed through corectly..

try some other systems, like cable or phone company's.. just run through the menus and see if pressing 3 gets you to menu option 3 .. etc.. maybe your moms works system say the wrong number and thinks you're typing in an extention that does not have VM..
