Yeah, especially considering that your APO AP address technically isn't a P.O. Box address (such as here in the states). This is a legal address for government/military personnel stationed overseas. As such, Vonage should allow delivery to any APO address -- separate from P.O. Box address here in the states! Come one Vonage, give our brothers in arms a break!!!

By US law, APO/FPO addresses may only be serviced by the US Postal Service. Vonage may not be set up to use USPS (for example, if they use a virtual warehouse from UPS or FedEx to do their fulfillment, which is common).

Have you called Customer Service to verify there is no workaround?

Are the Vonage adapters available through your BX, by any chance, or can they order one? Can a family member go into Best Buy, Circuit City, etc, and buy you one and ship it to you USPS? For that matter, can you mail order one through a retail store and have it shipped? There are plenty of ways to get your hands on one of these if Vonage's distribution network can't help you.

Once you get a retail box unit, you can use the "retail activation" and have your phone working in minutes.

How will I know if it is the right adaptor? Is their a specific model I am suppose to get? How do I go about getting the correct adaptor for the Vonage service if I were to go through another company to obtain the adapter?

Go into Circuit City or circuitcity.com and buy the adapter marketed as "VONAGE ADAPTER". Vonage has sales agreements with all the major retailers to sell routers and adapters that are co-branded with all the custom firmware preinstalled.

That's how I bought my WRTP54G. Took it home, plugged it in, surfed to Vonage's page, clicked on "RETAIL ACTIVATION", entered a few things including the MAC address and preferred dialing area (chose my home town in Maine), and about 15 minutes later the LINE 1 light lit up and I had a dial tone and my newly-assigned phone number worked from my cell. Nobody shipped me anything..

EDIT: Circuit City Link with search for Vonage pre-loaded:

Another ? for you. Once I purchase the adaptor, Do I then find the retailer option and then sign up for the service? Or do I sign up for the service before hand?

Buy the adapter first, then activate. You need the MAC address and all the cool shiny pieces of paper to get the activation done. One of the shiny pieces of paper will have the retail activation page you need. Wink
