I also have a Cingular cell phone, but unlike the OP, I have had no problems calling one from the other. I know that doesn't help solve the problem, but at least this indicates it is not a network-wide problem. |

When mine was doing this it lasted for about a week, I found it was sprint saying the message. I was able to find this out by playing the messages at http://www.payphone-directory.org/sounds.html until I found the one I heard

I will have to give Vonage and/or Cingular a call and see what they say. I will post more info if and when I get it worked out. |

I am having this issue with Sprint in San Diego. I can hear it ringing on my handset, but my cellphone never rings. Eventually the call goes to my celluar voicemail... very strange.
If I call from any other non-vonage phone, it rings as it's supposed to.
I bet there's some serious signaling issues at Vonage right now. |

I noticed this problem consistently for about an hour because I was trying to replicate it and didn't have any problem. I replicated the problem about 15 times with two Vonage phones and six Cingular phones.
Then I went to the gym for an hour and now it works fine. I guess I need to go to the gym more. |

Well, the original issue that I posted has since been resolved with no intervention on my part. I now call my cell phone, it rings, and I can talk and hear.
These new issue do not seem to be the same and should probably be posted in a new thread with an appropriate subject line. |
