Post subject: Dropped calls, inbound and out, one way calls: LinksysRTP300
I'm a second time
Vonage
customer. We cancelled the first time due to echo mainly. I still have that Cisco ATA which I may try to get activated. Now we're experiencing dropped calls and one way calls.
I'm trying everything I can think of. Comcast is coming out Sunday and I'm going to grill this guy. Any advice for dealing with "my fancy box meter says you have full signal" techs?
1. My location is metro Detroit area.
2. ISP is Comcast
3. up/down is 3M/300K
4. Motorola SB5120
5. Linksys RT300
6. [Cable Modem] --> [Linksys]
7. Dropped calls, ring then fast busy, can hear caller not receiver and vice versa.
8. Detailed results from testyour

I'd point at the poor outbound quality of service and the high percentage of packet discards. Are you sure that you're actually getting 300 kbps upload? I'd do a number of tests before the tech arrives and see if the speeds are consistent. Check at least once to see if you get similar results with and without the
Vonage
adapter in the circuit.
