Give us some more information. What equipment are you using? Do you see this bandwidth reduction all the time, or only when you're on the phone? |

It drops your download band width from 3 M to around a third of that just because you have the adapter on line? Are you serious??
In the other thread I suggest investing in a router, and that stands, but this issue needs looking into. A call to customer service is in order. If you haven't already, test the speed with the adapter on line but no phone plugged in before you call. Let us know how this turns out. |

this speed drop is with no phone at all just the adapter plugged in. i will call customer service and let u know but this is crazy and if i leave the adaptor on idel for awhile it totally drops the net off and i can only use the phone. |

I recently installed the Motorola adapter between my modem and my router. I have not bought a phone to plug into the adapter yet, so I have had the adapter hooked up for about a week now with no phone installed. Ever since I plugged in the adapter my internet bandwidth has been going crazy. One minute it's running normally, and the next it's dropping out. I had my cable company come in and check the lines. They were able to remedy some signal noise, which seemed to improve overall network delay, but the bandwidth is still fluctuating wildly. From 2Mbps - 6Kbps.
I just now unplugged the Motorola adapter, and for the last 3 hours the internet has been solid as a rock. (running speedtests every 20 mins or so).
I will post again if my internet bandwidth destabalizes again. |

The adapter hogs all that bandwidth without even having the phone installed?
These two seem to have the same problem, but the latter says he has a router, so it's OBVIOUSLY the motorola adapter that is causing the issue.
Interesting...
By the way, if you are shelling out money for the cable company to show up, just return the motorola adapter and get a different one. Save the $100. ^^ |

This is definitely interesting. If you'd like to investigate further, I'd be interested in knowing whether the problem repeats when you re-connect the adapter as indicated, and also whether you get similar results if the adapter is plugged into the router instead of the other way around. |

few hours later and still no more issues with my bandwidth.
tomorrow I'll try hooking up the motorola in front of my router, and see what happens.
Luckily the cable company did not charge me for coming out. |
