Greetings,

Just received my Vonage equipment last week and was pretty impressed with the quality of service and the dedication of the CS department in handling issues in a timely, and professional manner.
We had issues during the initial ordering of our service due to our debit card not being authorized by the bank even though we had more then enough money under our account. I had called Vonage expecting the classic CSR reponse "Please call the bank and determine if their are appropriate funds" etc etc. But the supervisor I talked with contacted the bank on three way and sorted out the issue promptly to process the order. We received our equipment shortly after and the installation process was extremely simple.

I think the only semi-negative issue with my Vonage experience thus far has nothing to do with service, but more of the design behind the service they offer. I was quick to find out that there is no form of security measures to prevent "man in the middle" packet sniffing or encryption in place. I was able to quite easily capture packets from within my network and convert them over to "wav" audio format. As security can be a sensitive issue for people in the private business sector, my wish would be to have some solution that vonage could offer to provide encrypted line much like gsm on cellphones.

Also something interesting happens when I make calls. On rare occasions when I'm dialing out and waiting for the other party to awnser, I can hear a faint radio signal in the background. Has anyone else experienced this? My girlfriend has experienced it on three different occasions along with myself.

But all in all, I extremely happy with my service thus far and its great to break away from the monolithic phone company.
