I called Vonage...wow I have not called customer service in so long, hate that I have to listen to the functions and all but got my call answered quickly. 910 and 919 customers have incoming call problems and it is being fixed. |

As I read your post, I thought I'd scan over to the left side of this forum to the Vonage Service Status and was surprised to see it had an update!
Vonage Service Status Customers may be experiencing problems receiving calls in area codes 910 and 919 due to a local carrier issue. Please continue to check the dashboard for updates. We apologize for the inconvenience. |

Why were you surprised? It is just one more reason to become a member of the Vonage Forum...

I have not had to call customer service in like 6 months or so now, so apparently they made their in line to wait much better than before. So that is good to know. I have been with Vonage for almost a year now. I am not going anywhere else for my home service. |

I have that problem now and I am not in one of those affected areas. My LNP was completed on Nov. 18, 2005 and they have metioned something of an incomplete port. I can get calls from other Vonage customers, but not from someone that dails from a landline. Otherwise, the service works great.
By the way, I am in the 773 area code and my previous phone provider was RCN and I have Comcast for broadband service. I use the Motorola VT1000 adapter. |

for the record- if you sign up with Vonage requesting a number port, then the ported number gets immediately assigned as your Vonage number, and the other number as a virtual number. Your outbound caller id will be the number to be ported, **and anybody else on the Vonage network will be able to call you with the ported number**. It just takes a while for the PSTN to catch up |

I've completed all the processes required:
November 7, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization November 8, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received November 16, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer November 18, 2005 Completed LNP Transfer
I'm complaing because I don't even have the temporary Virtual Number I was given anymore. Tomorrow is gonna be a week since this problem started. This should of been done on November 18 because that's when the LNP transfer was completed (supposely).
Note: I'm sorry, but I have people that call me and I find it really annoying. |

You said that someone- presumably Vonage- said something about an "incomplete port". However, it was "supposedly" done on the 18th, so did they say what they meant by that or what the consequences of that are?
If the port has not been completed successfully and Vonage has removed your virtual number, then you need to get with customer service and have them re-establish it. If the port was not done properly, it may well be a problem with your old carrier, not Vonage, but Vonage still has a responsibility to you to provide service. I'd get with them and not take no for an answer. |
